Solicitation for Ad Hoc Attorneys – Minor’s Counsel
The Superior Court of California, County of Butte is seeking to establish a list of independent qualified attorneys or firms to represent minor children upon appointment from the court in accordance with Family Code FC§ 3150 through FC§ 3153, and California Rules of Court 5.240 through 5.242. Counsel is appointed on an ad hoc basis to represent a party or parties upon the determination of the Court. Court calendars for these cases are scheduled at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p. m. every Tuesday and Wednesday at the North Butte County Courthouse located in Chico.
Qualifications
Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar is required.
Compliance with the qualification and training requirements listed in California Rule of Court 5.242.
Prior experience providing these services is also desired.
If offered to provide services for the Court, individuals may be required to submit to and pass a Live Scan background check prior to providing services.
Compensation
The rate for counsel is $85 per hour for time spent rendering services. Counsel who are offered to provide services will be appointed by the Court on an as-needed basis.
Proposal Instructions
Interested individuals must submit a complete proposal. Proposals must include:
· A resume which demonstrates the minimum qualifications for this position are met.
· If applicable, qualifications of staff that will assist the contractor in performing solicited services.
· Proof of business and professional licenses.
