Professional History
Mr. Shepherd graduated from Hastings College of Law in 1973. From January of 1974 to July
of 1981, Mr. Shepherd practiced in Los Angeles, California, first in insurance defense work and
select plaintiff personal injury, then engaging in entertainment litigation representing MCA,
Universal Studios, United Artist Records and Capitol Records.
Since moving to Chico, California in 1981, his practice has focused on select plaintiff cases,
business litigation, real estate litigation, construction law and insurance defense. His extensive
trial experience involves cases ranging from automobile to premise liability, product liability and
commercial liability. His trial experience includes over 100 civil jury trials including trials in
United States District Court for the Eastern District (Sacramento), Los Angeles County, Santa
Barbara County, Butte County, Tehama County, Shasta County, Sonoma County, Glenn County,
Sutter County, Yuba County, San Luis Obispo County and Mendocino County Superior Courts.
Since 1999, Mr. Shepherd has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates
(ABOTA).
